Usage of Ice

Ice can be used in a lots of way, depends on your desire.

Here some idea on how to use the ice.


1. Keep perishable item fresh and extend the shelf life
It could be applied to your food that need extra hours in cool condition but no refrigerator was available there. Ice was the best choice for you, it’s cheap and convenient. Just cover your food with ice and it's ready, however it must be placed in a sealed container for maximum results.

2. Stop the cooking process
In other word, its call as blanching process. It could be applied to vegetables, seafood and spaghetti. What you need is, to boil the vegetables/seafood/spaghetti in few minutes before dipped it in ice water (mixture of ice and water). Blanching process will help to enhance the color of your food, make it more glow and look tasty to eat. It also help you to serve your food in al dente.

3. Making a dessert
In Malaysia, the popular dessert made from ice was Ice Kacang@ABC, Cendol and Bubble Tea. It’s a favorite dessert to dealing with a hot weather. Other than that, variety of dessert can be made using ice like Ice Teler, Red Rubies, Kakigōri, Baobing and others.

4. Icy-cold drinks
Hot weather and you want to beat the heat. It can be done by gulp the icy-cold drinks. So easy, just drop a few cubic of ice in your drinks and ready to be served. It can be customized with any type of drink like tea, coffee, chocolate, carbonated drinks, fruit juice, plain water and many more.
